With the strong support of the Government of Himachal Pradesh, local administrtation and the local people, the land was acquired and work for the project began on October 2001. Presently there are 180 workers engaged in the construction work and the leveling of ground is nearing completion . Besides the paid laborers. the local community members consisting of monks, nuns and layman are voluntarily contributing their time.

Ven. Wangdor Rinpoche, Spiritual Director of Padmasambhava project, out of an ocean of limitless compassion started the project of construction of the peace park and the tallest statue of Guru Padmasambhava, at Tso Pema, Rinpoche, now 64, fled from Tibet in the year 1959. He continued practicing strict meditation till 1979 at the holy

cave of Guru Padmasambhava situated on the hiIl-top above the beautiful lake Rewalsar (Tso Pema), Himachal Pradesh.

Under the spiritual guidance of Rinpoche, Venerable Khenpo Sonam Tashi, an accomplished master from Eastern Tibet, will directly supervise the project. The

project aims:

To prevent negative Karma and promote world peace

To prevent calamities, wars, epidemic diseases etc.

To provide sublime objects for all sentient beings to accumulate virtue for centuries to come.

To generate employment by way of promotion of tourism thus help the locals improve the livelihood.
